Project Development

The Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK®) defines a project as a temporary endeavour to create a unique product, service or result.  Temporary as each project is, it has a definite beginning and a definite end.  Unique as each project is, it creates its own deliverables, which are either products, services or results.

At ProMet, we apply this basic concept to each of the stages of a project’s life cycle, see figure below.

The transition from one phase to another early in project life cycle generally involves some form of technical transfer and/or review gate.

Thus the stage of the project life cycle is used to define:

  • What technical work is to be completed ie the deliverables
  • When the deliverables are to be generated ie the schedule
  • How each deliverable is reviewed, verified and validated
  • Who is involved
  • How to control and approve each stage

ProMet provides services for each of the life cycle stages and tailors the application of it’s project and engineering delivery tools accordingly.
