Austeel: Due diligence studies, technical assistance and project management services for the Austeel Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The project involves the production of close to 4 Mtpa of steel products from a coastal magnetite ore deposit. Steelmaking facilities were proposed at Newcastle, New South Wales.
HIsmelt: Preparation of studies of speciality and stainless steel production in Western Australia, taking advantage of the local resources of iron and nickel ores.
Jindal Vijayanagar Steel: Assistance in the start-up of a new 3 Mtpa iron pelletising plant in India. This work was done in conjunction with Kvaerner E&C who designed and supplied the plant.
OneSteel: Detail engineering, project and construction management and commissioning of a replacement dustcatcher unit for the No. 2 blast furnace at OneSteel Whyalla Steelworks in South Australia. This project was undertaken in conjunction with VAI Industries (UK) Ltd.
OneSteel: Development of alternative slag granulation solutions, including a novel dry granulation technology, on behalf of various clients for application at OneSteel's blast furnace, Whyalla, Australia.
SASE: An evaluation of the commercial application of the AusIron® direct smelting technology for the production of pig iron, including project management services and technical assistance in the start-up and operation of its commercial-scale ironmaking demonstration plant at Whyalla, South Australia.
Vorskla Steel: Initial evaluation of and then project management and technical assistance for a new greenfield steel slab production project incorporating the Midrex Direct Reduction® ironmaking technology in the Ukraine. Refer project sheet.
