Core Competencies:  One of ProMet's core competencies, with its centre of excellence based in Perth, lies in iron ore processing covering the full range of process options for iron ore from primary beneficiation of magnetite, hematite and earthy ores, to the production of steel products, including agglomeration, indurating, direct reduction, blast furnace ironmaking, direct smelting and steelmaking.  ProMet has been involved in the design of most of the Australian magnetite concentrator projects studied in recent years.

Another core competency, with its centre of excellence based in Cape Town, is heavy media separation-based minerals processing as used in the diamond, coal and gold recovery processes.  Team members have been at the cutting edge of diamond processing technology developments and have designed, constructed and operated diamond plants.

ProMet’s team is highly capable of delivering best practice plant designs with a strong emphasis on cost-effective and fit-for-purpose engineering.

Other Processes:  In addition to its core competencies, ProMet provides a range of non-ferrous and base metals capabilities.  With its internal expertise and specialist associates, ProMet provides design and project management of hydrometallurgical and mineral processing plants for a range of minerals including base metals such as gold, copper, lead, zinc and silver, mineral sands, nickel, potash, salt and uranium.
