Coal Projects

Aviva Corporation:  As part of the ironmaking study, a full assessment of the optimum way to upgrade Aviva Coal to make it suitable for use in a rotary hearth ironmaking process.

Anglo Coal:  Conceptual Study to quantify the cost and effect of constructing a destoning plant for New Denmark mine feeding the Tutuka Power Station.

Central Energy Fund:  Study into the use of x-ray sorting for separating coal from torbanite.

Griffin Coal:  Owner’s engineer/project manager for a new industrial size char production plant.

Klip River:  Scoping Study for a 600,000 tpa brownfields project development, including mining, process plant, infrastructure, utilities and port and rail requirements.

Keaton Coal:  Feasibility Study for three plants to process 5 seam 2/4 seam and a lean coal at a minimum of 250 tph each.

Sasol, Shondoni Mine:  Pre-feasibility Study for new underground coal mine including a conveyors, surface bunkering and an overland conveyor system linking to the existing synfuels plant.  Work done in support of WorleyParsons.

Solid Energy:  Studies into the effect on production and operating costs of substitution of different coals in the New Zealand Steel ironmaking flowsheet.  Development of a full ironmaking processing model to allow assessment of the effect of different mixtures of coal.

Spitfire Oil:  Assistance to Curtin University with process design review of L2V Process to produce liquid fuels from coal at Salmon Gums.

Wesfarmers Premier Coal:  Study into the potential alternative process routes for coal charring and subsequently Owner’s engineer in support of the establishment of a demonstration char plant.
